Tampa, FL — Horcery is proud to sponsor Ring the Bell at Tampa Bay Downs today, an initiative in partnership with Run for the Ribbons Inc. that highlights the importance of Thoroughbred aftercare.

This meaningful event follows the National HBPA Conference, where industry leaders gathered to discuss the future of racing and the well-being of both equine and human participants. As part of the conference, Horcery’s Jeff DeAngelis delivered a keynote on the evolving role of technology in horse racing, which sparked meaningful discussion among industry leaders. Building on that momentum, he will be representing Horcery at today’s event, taking part in the ceremonial bell ringing to reinforce Horcery’s commitment to both the sport and its retired athletes. By sponsoring the entire race day, Horcery underscores its dedication to safeguarding the future of horse racing while ensuring that racehorses are given the best opportunities for second careers.
“Run for the Ribbons Inc. appreciates Horcery’s sponsorship of the Ring the Bell initiative at Tampa Bay Downs, as it will help us continue our mission to support retiring racehorses and all participants in the racing industry,” said Laurine Fuller-Vargas, President and Founder of Run for the Ribbons Inc. “Our commitment to Thoroughbred aftercare reflects our dedication to the well-being of these incredible animals and to also shedding a positive light on horse racing in Florida. Together, we can continue to elevate the sport while ensuring that horses are cared for with the respect and love they deserve.”
The Ring the Bell program at Tampa Bay Downs serves as a powerful reminder of racing’s responsibility to its equine athletes. Horcery, known for its innovative approach to integrating technology with equine welfare, is honored to be a part of this initiative alongside Run for the Ribbons and the Florida HBPA.
Matti Hiob, CEO of Horcery, echoed this commitment, stating, “Racing thrives when we take care of our own, both the people and the horses who give so much to the sport. At Horcery, we are committed to safeguarding the future of racing by preserving this tradition of responsibility while building technology that supports the welfare of horses and horsemen. That is why we are proud to support Ring the Bell. Alongside the Florida HBPA and Run for the Ribbons, we are dedicated to ensuring that every retired racehorse has the opportunity for a safe and fulfilling second career, just as they deserve.”
